The Savior Has Come Devotional (Advent Series Devotional 4)

As the moment of His birth drew near, all of heaven watched—not with doubt or hesitation, but with wonder. The long-anticipated moment had finally come. The eternal Son was entering time. Angels, who had observed God’s purposes unfold through generations, beheld a mystery they had never fully understood—standing in awe, ready to announce the moment that would set redemption in motion. A divine heartbeat began to pulse within a tiny newborn chest. The Word took His first breath. What had been promised from the very beginning was now present among us, not in the splendor befitting a King, but in humility. Not in power, but in weakness and helplessness—willingly embraced.

This was no change in God’s plan. It was the fulfillment of it. The Savior Has Come—just as God said He would.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.”
Isaiah 9:2
“I am the Root and the Descendent of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16

In my mind’s eye, I try to imagine that holy night.
The quietness. The stillness. The darkness. The sky is suddenly alive with light.
I wonder how far the star reached — and in my wonder, I imagine not only down to the manger, but forward through time.
Its beams stretch beyond Bethlehem. Beyond the silent, holy night.
Its brilliance is unable to be contained. It is pointing as if to say, “This way. This is Him.”
Was the elongated glow pointing toward a cross yet unseen?
Was the light announcing more than a birth — proclaiming a mission?
It is as though it were saying, “Here is the Bright and Morning Star.”
Not merely marking where He lay but declaring who He is.
The light did not end at the cradle.
It pressed onward — toward what was to be: sacrifice, victory, redemption.

And the truth is, He was born to die. The story did not stop with a baby lying in a manger of hay.
Emmanuel, God with Us, Jesus—the Son of God; this child, laid in a humble manger, would one day hang upon a cross.
The wood that held him now would one day hold him again on a rugged cross.
The light that shone that brilliant night would mark His life and His sacrifice.

The same light that pierced the darkness of Bethlehem now shines into the human heart —
revealing sin, offering mercy, extending grace, and inviting surrender.

The Savior Has Come

The Rose of Bethlehem has bloomed.
What was promised has unfolded.
What was sent has been fulfilled.
From that silent, holy night to the finished work of the cross,
Hallelujah, The Light has come.

Will you step out of the darkness and into His light?

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
